Conservation Planning – Protecting the Land we Preserve
All farms submitting an application for an Agricultural Conservation Easement must have a Conservation Plan. A Conservation Plan describes the land management practices which will improve and maintain the soil, water and related plant and animal resources of the land. The Conservation Plan, prepared by a certified conservation planner, or USDA/Natural Resources Conservation Service, should include:
- An installation schedule.
- A maintenance program.
- A manure management, or nutrient management component.
